Data Manager

Kaliber AI is hiring an experienced and talented Data Manager to join our team and help us develop the next generation of AI-powered, surgical software solutions. We’re a highly collaborative, mission-driven company and are looking for someone who’s excited about what we’re building at Kaliber and eager to contribute to the development of our products.

 

Data is integral to Kaliber’s work, and the Data Manager will play a central role in developing and implementing the vision and architecture necessary to achieve our product goals. You will own the data roadmap, and will be responsible for building data pipelines and data platforms from inception to launch and for aligning data and production timelines. This is a leadership position and, given its breadth of responsibilities, will require you to partner with our Product, Clinical, AI / ML, SW development and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities
 

  • Build data pipelines and data platforms from inception to launch

  • Own the data roadmap and align production timelines

  • Support and manage the capture, quality, and analysis of data from diverse sources

  • Develop a Data Quality Plan based on regulatory guidelines 

  • Develop strategies for dataset curation, labeling, annotation tools 

  • Work with the data science and engineering teams to plan/build our data infrastructure

  • Report the ML pipeline performance in terms of business outcomes (quality, performance, scale) to the key stakeholders
     

Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences, life sciences or engineering; advanced degree in data science, computer science or biostatistics preferred

  • 5+ years of data management and/or related work experience in the medical device, software as a medical device, or other similar industry

  • Hands on experience with Computer Vision and NLP-based pipelines

  • Experience with dataset curation, labeling, annotation tools, and strategies

  • Experience building both AI/ML products and leading teams that have done real deployments for commercial products

  • Experience with ML data development best practices, medical product development, and regulatory requirements and terminology
     

Location
 

This position is open at either our St. Louis, MO or San Francisco, CA office. Some of our positions require employees to be on-site in the office to create a better collaborative and efficient work environment. Employees may have to visit customer sites including medical facilities. Depending on the site's health and safety guidelines, you may be required to have medical screenings or vaccinations to meet site requirements, which may include Covid-19 vaccination and/or testing.
