San Francisco, CA. August 30, 2021 – Kaliber Labs has announced that Dr. Mark Getelman, a leader in the field of minimally invasive surgery and the current president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), has joined the company’s Surgeon Advisory Board.

“We are incredibly honored to be working with Dr. Getelman,” Kaliber CEO Ray Rahman said. “His experience and skill will be an incredible asset as we continue to develop Kaliber’s surgical software solutions, and we know that he shares Kaliber’s mission to make a material difference in surgeons and patients’ lives.”

Kaliber’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Richard Angelo, echoed these sentiments. “Dr. Getelman is a distinguished surgeon whose expertise and skill are widely recognized within the orthopedic community,” Dr. Angelo said. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the Kaliber team.”

Dr. Getelman is an internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee. He currently practices sports medicine at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI) and also serves as the co-director of the SCOI fellowship program. Dr. Getelman’s tenure as president of AANA follows more than 20 years of involvement with the organization as a vice president and multi-committee member. He is widely published – with numerous articles, scientific papers, and chapters to his name – and regularly teaches advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques to physicians across the globe.

“Kaliber’s technology is truly the first of its kind, and it holds incredible promise to improve minimally invasive surgical performance and meaningfully address the fragmentation that exists in healthcare today,” said Dr. Getelman. “I’m looking forward to working closely with Kaliber and helping put these tools in the hands of surgeons everywhere.”
