Dr. Romeo is a leading practitioner and thought leader in advanced surgical techniques for the treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions.
Having authored more than 400 peer-reviewed journal articles and treated the nation’s foremost athletes, Dr. Romeo has built his reputation as both an esteemed scientist and clinician.

Dr. Romeo practiced medicine in Chicago for more than 25 years, serving as a physician for both the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox, as well as treating NFL and Olympic-level athletes, before moving to New York to take over the role of chief of orthopedics at the Rothman Institute. Recently, he has returned to the Chicago Metro Area as the Executive Vice President of the Musculoskeletal Institute, Dupage Medical Group, the largest independent multispecialty physician group in Illinois. He is the Chief Medical Editor of Orthopaedics Today and was selected by his peers to serve a term as President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society. Dr. Romeo is an expert in minimally-invasive arthroscopic surgery and has pioneered cutting-edge techniques for shoulder replacements and treating arthritis. He has been widely lauded for exceptional patient care and patient outcomes.
