Cleveland Clinic Director for the Center for Hip Preservation Joins Kaliber Surgeon Advisory Board

Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of Center for Hip Preservation at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Kamath is a leading expert in joint preservation and surgical techniques.

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Kamath completed his fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic. He pursued advanced training in hip preservation, restoration, and reconstruction through awards from the Maurice Müller Foundation, Charnley Foundation, and the Hip Society, followed by an additional fellowship in health policy through the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). In 2018, Dr. Kamath was recruited to the Cleveland Clinic to serve as the Director of the Center for Hip Preservation, leading a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to diagnosing and treating hip pain across all age groups. He concurrently serves as Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Clinical Innovation Lead for Orthopedics, and Global Vice Chair for Quality, Safety & Patient Experience.

A dedicated researcher, Dr. Kamath’s interests include patient safety after joint arthroscopy and replacements, patient satisfaction and cost measures associated with hip and knee conditions, as well as less invasive surgical techniques and joint preservation strategies for the young.
