Dr. Yamakado earned his medical and doctoral degrees from Kanazawa University’s School of Medicine. Since 2012, he has served as Head of Orthopedic Surgery at Fukui General Hospital. He is an international member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), a corresponding member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and Chairman of the The Japanese Shoulder Society’s Operations Committee. Dr. Yamakado also serves as Associate Editor for JSES: Seminar in Arthroplasty and holds positions on multiple editorial boards, including the Journal of Orthopaedic Science and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Rehabilitation and Technology. He has received numerous awards, including AANA’s Richard J. O’Connor Research Award in 2018.
