Kaliber Announces Appointment of Klaus Kleinfeld to Advisory Board

San Francisco, CA. May 10, 2023 - Kaliber Labs is excited to announce the appointment of Klaus Kleinfeld to its Advisory Board. An esteemed global executive and investor with a career spanning industries and leadership roles, Dr. Kleinfeld is the former CEO of Siemens AG, Alcoa Inc., Arconic, and NEOM, as well as a successful investor in multiple fields, including healthcare, industrial AI, software and robotics. His broad experience and insights will offer a guiding hand to Kaliber, as the company brings to market AI-powered solutions for orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Kleinfeld became the first CEO of NEOM in 2018 and currently serves on its board, while advising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on economic development. From 2008 to 2017, Dr. Kleinfeld served as Chairman and CEO of Alcoa/Arconic, where he steered the company through a historic industry crisis while also shaping Alcoa into an important and innovative high-tech company. Prior to joining Alcoa, Dr. Kleinfeld enjoyed a twenty-year career with Siemens AG, holding various positions in medical, telecommunication, IT, automation, and power generation businesses. His posts included time as President and CEO of the Siemens U.S. Corporation, the company’s largest region, where he oversaw the profitable turnaround of Siemens' regional business in the U.S. In 2005, he became CEO of Siemens AG and led the company through organizational and cultural transformations.


Dr. Kleinfeld has been appointed advisor to several U.S. Presidents in various roles and has served on the boards of Trustees of the World Economic Forum, Turner Construction, Bayer AG, Citibank Inc., Hewlett Packard Inc., and Morgan Stanley. He has been a member of the Global CEO Advisory Council of Premier Li of the People’s Republic of China, a member of the Mayor of Shanghai’s International Business Leaders Advisory Council, and on the World Economic Forum’s Board of Trustees.
