Pioneering Leader in Orthopedic Surgery and Health Systems to Advise on Next Generation Surgical AI Platform

March 7, 2023 – Kaliber Labs, a startup developing the first AI-powered platform to augment and refine the skills of surgeons across medical systems, has appointed Dr. Nicholas Sgaglione, Professor and Chair of the Northwell Health Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Senior Vice President of Orthopedics and Executive Director of the Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute, to the company’s Surgeon Advisory Board.

With more than 32 years of clinical experience as an orthopedic surgeon and a distinguished record as a researcher and industry leader, Dr. Sgaglione treats patients and teaches at Northwell Health as well as at the Zucker School of Medicine as Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. A pioneer in arthroscopic techniques and surgeon education, he is the editor of three orthopedic textbooks and more than 100 published articles and book chapters on knee, shoulder, ankle and cartilage surgery. He is Past President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America as well as the Past Chair of the Arthroscopy Journal Board of Trustees and Arthroscopy Association of North America Education Foundation.
