Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Dayne Mickelson Joins Kaliber Surgeon Advisory Board

Dr. Mickelson brings a wealth of experience to Kaliber Labs. He earned his computer engineering degree from Lehigh University before pivoting into the field of medicine. After completing medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Washington, he pursued further specialization through a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Duke University.

Dr. Mickelson’s emphasis on education and individualized care plans has gained him widespread recognition and has earned him numerous accolades, including consecutive Seattle Met Top Doctor awards from 2020 to 2023. His extensive contributions to sports medicine research are reflected in over a dozen publications in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Orthopedics, the Journal of Hand Surgery, and The American Journal of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Mickelson's passion for sports extends beyond the operating room as he has previously served as a team physician for Duke University's football, basketball, and lacrosse teams, as well as for North Carolina Central University's football team. He currently serves as the team doctor for local high schools and college.
